Hello!
My name is Marta, I am a researcher in marine biology by day, and a visual artist by night. I am originally from Italy but, in the last 11 years, I have moved four times to different European countries. At the moment, I am based in Belgium. The muse for my artwork is always nature, in its broader sense (from natural processes and living organisms to the feelings that nature arises in us). I focus mainly on illustrations and nature photography. For most of my illustrations, I use watercolor and pigment ink, but some of my work include also post-production (layering of different hand-draws into a single image). Most of my work streams from an intimate, inner process of interpretation and perception, which often results in sub-real images.
